What's Mangosteen?

The main ingredient of Zambroza is Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana)--a tropical fruit found in eastern tropical islands such as Thailand.  The Thais refer to mangosteen as the "queen of fruits."  The fruit has a delicious sweetness with a slight amount of sourness.  The dried fruit and pericarp (outer rind) have been shipped and used medicinally for many years in China, India, and Singapore.

One of the greatest threats to our health--causing many health problems--is free radical damage caused by pollution, environmental toxins, food additives, and more.  Free radicals attack each cell in the human body thousands of times per day, weakening it and making it susceptible to sickness and disease.  Of course, we can do some things to limit our exposure to these threats; but over time, it is impossible to prevent free radical damage.  This is where antioxidants become helpful.

Mangosteen contains Xanthones, which are a specialized family of antioxidants.  Antioxidants fight free radical damage.  The most well-known antioxidants are Vitamins such as A, C, & E; as well as substances such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, N-acetyl cysteine, selenium, and more.  Many herbs are well-known sources of antioxidants--such as grape seed, noni, green tea, pine, and many more.  Even "healthy" people need antioxidants, which makes Mangosteen a good choice for everyone--healthy or sick!

Mangosteen has much research behind it--more than many other health supplements and more than many prescription drugs.  According to medical research, Xanthones have anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-parasitic properties as well as their fabulous antioxidant effects.

Unlike the competition, Zambroza contains other natural, powerful antioxidant substances...

Lycium is known to promote longevity.  In China, it is known as a traditional anti-aging medicine.  Disease prevention and prolongation of life may be due to lycium's immune-enhancing effects as well as protecting against DNA and cellular damage.  The polysaccharides found in lycium have intense antioxidant activity, similar to that of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD).

Green Tea is also a traditional herb which has contributed to the longevity of many Japanese.  Green tea offers antioxidant protection against diseases as well as protecting the cells against chromosone damage by reducing DNA damage, lipid peroxidation, and free radical generation.

Resveratrol belongs to a group of compounds called polyphenols.  We find polyphenols in red wine, green tea and grape skins.  Resveratrol may protect the life of the grape and in turn may help to extend the lifespan of the organisms eating the grapes.
